Rural Vinton residents and former Vinton jewelry store owners Steve and Teri Copler suffered minor injuries in a motorcycle accident in northern Fayette County last weekend.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Copler was driving a 2008 Harley-Davidson eastbound on Kornhill Road near Wadena when he lost control at around 1:15 p.m in the 4000 block of Kornhill Road. The motorcycle left the roadway and entered the south ditch and overturned,

Steven and his passenger, Teri Copler, were transported to Palmer Hospital in West Union for non-life threatening injuries.

Copler, who has relocated Copler Fine Jewelry to Cedar Rapids, was cited for failure to maintain control; damage to the bike was estimated at $5,000.
