For one more time a few weeks before going their separate ways to college, the seniors of the Vinton-Shellsburg High School basketball team, which spent much of its undefeated season ranked No. 1, were together again, competing.

But this time, Grant Sagan, Max Kearns, Max Griffith, Chris Merchant and Kelyn Rickels were opponents, competing against each other in the Minute to Win It event during Party in the Park.

Events included one-handed tossing (and crumpling) of paper into a 5-gallon bucket, shaking of booties to expel ping pong balls from a tissue box attached to the contestants' back side and finally, the one-man tennis ball bounce and catch, using a bucket taped to the heads of finalists Grant Sagan and Max Griffith.

Max G, who was named a KCRG Athlete of the Week during a season in which he led most of Iowa in 3-point shooting, won the final contest to be named the Minute to Win It Champion.
