Richard William Riha, Jr.

Richard William Riha, Jr., 48, of Tama, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at UnityPoint-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Private Family Services will be held at a future date.Richard was born on March 28, 1972, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Richard William and Norma J. (Noe) Riha, Sr. He graduated from South Tama High School in 1990.

James Stewart Youel

James Stewart Youel Born: February 13, 1922; in Vinton, IA Died: April 9, 2020; in Traer, IA James Stewart Youel, 98, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 6:18 PM on April 9, 2020 in Traer, Iowa. Jim was born February 13, 1922 in Vinton, Iowa, the only child of Irmel L. Youel and Nelle (Stewart) Youel. While Jim was a young boy, the Irmel Youel family moved to Fort Madison, Iowa.

David W. Stien

David W. Stien, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at The Vinton Lutheran Home, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.Due to state and federal guidelines concerning the COVID-19 virus, private family funeral services will be held with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, rural Atkins.

Arris Eckstein

Arris Eckstein, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids.Memorial services will be held at a later date, with interment at Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville.  Memorials may be directed to the Newhall First Responders.Arris was born on June 7, 1927, in Shellrock, IA, the daughter of Glenn and Alberta (Scoles) Avery.

David D. Campbell

David D. Campbell, 79, of Newhall, Iowa, died Thursday, April 15, 2020. Burial will take place at a later date at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. David was a wonderful husband, father and provider to his family. We love you.

Gwendolyn Meyer-Collingwood

Gwendolyn Meyer-Collingwood, 85, of Belle Plaine, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, at Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center. Per Gwen's wishes, there will be no services. Cards and memorials in Gwen's name may be sent to Kloster Funeral Home, 298 W. Washington St., Marengo, IA 52301.Gwen is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Terry) Kinney of Oxford and Valerie (Jim) Beenken of Maynardville, Tenn.

Dean Allan Lewis

Dean Allan Lewis, 86, of Salem, Virginia, passed from this earth on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at his home in Salem, Virginia.He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Maggie” Lewis, of the home; sons, Craig “Allan” and Brinda Lewis of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Derek and Carol Lewis of Placentia, California; sisters, Jane and George Abbas of Aplington, Iowa, and Nancy and Chuck Helle of Vinton, Iowa; brother, Tom Lewis of Watertown, Massachu[st]ts; grandchildren, Amber, Sean, Diana, Chase, Braden, Cassandra, Chelsea and Chad; great-grandchildren, Kashton, Mary, Kole, Kaytlin, Xander, Keira, Kailee, Ayden, Kaylee, Nicole and Troy; along with five stepchildren; step-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends who love him dearly.

JANET CHARLENE (HAMMOND) WALTERS

Janet Charlene (Hammond) Walters, 81, passed away April 7, 2020, of natural causes. Private family interment will be held at a later date.Janet was a 30-plus-year resident of Shellsburg, Iowa, but most recently lived at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon.Janet is survived by her daughter, Kathryne (Edward) Walls Snyder of Maryland; and her son, Mark (Kimberley) Walls of Illinois.

Clare Alfred Moelk

Clare Alfred Moelk was born April 6, 1934 in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Cora (Storby) Moelk. He is a 1952 graduate Vinton High School, Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) with a Bachelor of Business Administration (cum laude), George Washington University (Master of Government) and the Federal Executive Institute.He attended Drake University Law School and studied Japanese language at Georgetown University and The Tokyo School of Japanese Language.

Eva Miller

Eva Miller, age 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020.Private family services will be held, with burial at Parkers Grove Cemetery, rural Shellsburg.Eva was born on December 4, 1919, the daughter of William and Maria (Malzahan) Buls in rural Bremer County Iowa. She graduated from Frederika High School in 1938.In 1939, she was united in marriage to Keith Scott, who preceded her in death in 1954.
