James Louis Anderson passed from this life on Friday January 25, 2019 due to a stroke. Jim was born June 23rd, 1933 on the family farm four miles southwest of Vinton, the youngest of ten children of William Carl and Cora Barta Anderson. He attended country school at Jackson #7 through the sixth grade and then the Vinton public schools, graduating from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1951. Edna Jeanette Risdal Stien

Donna Leila Stevens, 59, of Dysart, formerly of Garrison, Iowa, died peacefully in her sleep at 12:25 p.m. January 22, 2019 after an extended illness. She was born on November 5, 1959 in Vinton, Iowa, to Glenn and Virginia (King) Halstead.

Julie D. Davis, 64 years old, of Vinton, Iowa, formerly of Independence, passed away peacefully January 19, 2019 after a battle with cancer. Julie was born April 8, 1954, in Independence, the daughter of Leonard Joseph & Lucille May (Jones) Dlouhy. Douglas J. Nelson, 76, of Charles City died January 10, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City. A family and friends graveside service will be held at a future date at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.
Doug was born June 11, 1942, to Kenneth and Ethel Nelson in Edgewood, Iowa. He graduated from Marion High School in 1960.
He met the love of his life, Jerri Ellery, in Cedar Rapids, and they were married on September 15, 1962.
