Alvin 'Bud' Schild

Bud Schild BELLE PLAINE – Alvin “Bud” Schild, 88, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Northbrook Manor Care in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Bud’s family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Oct. 11, at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. Public graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Keystone Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Merkel-Bockholt American Legion Post 107 of Keystone.

Lincoln Michael Jacobs

Lincoln Michael Jacobs KEYSTONE:      Infant Lincoln Michael Jacobs, 6 month old son of Shane and Nicole "Nikki" Jacobs died as a result of an auto accident on October 8, 2010.      Lincoln was born April 9, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.      Baby Lincoln is survived by his parents and his four year old sister, Kailyn Jacobs, all of Keystone.

Clyde H. St. Clair

Clyde Hill St. Clair VINTON:       Clyde Hill St. Clair was born to Glenn M. and Jesse Lucille (Hill) St. Clair in Vinton, Iowa on January 27, 1918.  He was a life long resident of Vinton with the exception of years he spent attending Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and proudly serving his country as a decoder in Air Corps during WWII.

Gail E. Stoaks

Gail E. Stoaks   Gail E. Stoaks, 70, of Iowa City and formerly of Vinton and Clarence, IA died Sunday, October 3rd after a courageous battle with cancer at the home of his friends and extended family in Iowa City. Gail leaves behind two sisters, Geraldine (Jack) Jones of Lenox, IA and Peggy (Ray) Bradley of Trenton, MO; three nieces Lesley Bradley, Jody (Steve) Gerardy, and Jackie (Scott) Bryant; two nephews, Tim (Teresa) Jones and Pauley (Annette) Bradley, seven great nieces, and two great nephews.

John Leslie Shaw Jr.

John Leslie Shaw Jr., 86, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Vinton, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at South Florida Hospitals in Zephyrhills following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with the Rev. Karen Larson officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton, with graveside military rites.

NEWHALL:  Linda Bierschenk, 68, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at her rural residence following a sudden illness.      Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery near Newhall.

PJ Evens DYSART – Pearl I. Evens, 28, of Dysart, formerly of Vinton, died suddenly in his home on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010. Celebration of Life: 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the home of Alberta Parker, 3149 59th Street Trail, Vinton. RSVP at (319) 453-5590. Please bring a side dish or dessert if attending.
