FORT MYERS, FL: Hal O. Longer, 83, of Fort Myers, Florida, and formerly of Vinton, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 after a brief illness.
He was born August 25, 1926 in Washington, Iowa. After serving in the US Army during WW II, he graduated from the University of Iowa. He taught and coached football, farmed, and owned and operated the International Harvester dealership in Vinton, before taking a management position with International Harvester Corporation. Lynn Suzanne Stiff was born December 1, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to James William and Jeneane Butterbrodt Stiff. At the age of 54, Lynn Fraker died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Mexico, Missouri, on Sunday, July 11, 2010.

Kerry Halva-Cash, 40, of West Union, granddaughter of Jeanne Gulick of Vinton, died June 15 at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Services were held on Saturday at the United Methodist Church in West Union.
Kerry was born Dec. 5 1969, the daughter of Gary and Karen (Gulick) Halva. In March of 1995, Kerry was married to Williams Cash.
