VINTON – Marvin H. Rommann, 81 of Canon City, Colorado and formerly of Vinton died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at St. Thomas More Hospital in Canon City, Colorado. Public Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, October 17, 2013 with the Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 Chaplain officiating at the Garrison Cemetery. Military Honors will also be conducted by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 and the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements. Marvin was born January 13, 1932 in Flandreau, South Dakota the son of Art and Lila (Manz) Rommann. He attended school in Ravinia, South Dakota. Marvin served his country in the United States Air Force for three years prior to being honorably discharged.

He married Rose Laska in 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. Rose preceded Marvin in death in 1997. Marvin worked as a machinist for Rockwell Collins for 20 years retiring in 1995. He married Bonnie Hull on December 15, 2004 at home. Marvin enjoyed woodworking, traveling and sitting on the porch. He was a member of the local machinist union in Cedar Rapids and the Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 in Vinton.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Canon City, Colorado; his three daughters, Connie (Don) Peak, Deb (Dave) Baron and Evelyn Bruce; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one step-daughter, Gina (Keith) Plamman.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Marvin was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roger and Loren and one son, Keelin.
