Beatrice Caroline Losenicky, 91, of Cedar Rapids, and formerly of Dysart, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at West Ridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vinton. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2013, from 4 to 7 pm, at Overton Funeral Home in Dysart, and an hour prior at the church. Burial will be in Rampton Cemetery in rural Dysart. Beatrice was born August 27, 1922 in Benton County, Bruce Township, Iowa: the daughter of Herman and Alma (Hark) Obrosk. She attended country school and graduated from Dysart High School in 1942. Beatrice then moved to Cedar Rapids to work for Collins Radio. She was united in marriage to Albert Losenicky on December 1, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vinton; he preceded her in death on June 27, 1997. Together, they made their home east of Dysart where they farmed all their married life. Beatrice enjoyed gardening, upholstery, where she taught classes and canning. She raised chickens and sold their eggs. Beatrice loved to play Bingo, music and dancing.

Beatrice passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert; a brother Keith Obrosk; a sister Flossie Gravatt and a grandson Joe Carpenter. Beatrice is survived by 2 daughters: Sharon (Duane) Carpenter of Cedar Rapids and Linda (Ronald) Debus of Marion; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Rachel Vaitkus of Broadview, Illinois and Ruth Franck of Independence, Iowa and a sister-in-law Mildred Hilmer of Vinton. Beatrice will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Also, a special thanks to Windsor Manor in Vinton, West Ridge Care Center and Mercy Hospice in Cedar Rapids.
