Gladys M. Anders, 93, of Dysart, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Sunnycrest Nursing Center in Dysart.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. Burial will be in the Keystone Cemetery.
Gladys Marie Anders was born on June 25, 1920, in Page, North Dakota, the daughter of William and Clara (Kiebach) Albers. She grew up in South Dakota and attended school in Goodwin. On April 25, 1940, Gladys was united in marriage to Henry Anders at the Little Bit of Heaven Chapel in Davenport, Iowa. The couple made their home in Davenport for seven years before moving to Benton County. In 1972, they moved to Dysart. Gladys was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Henry’s business, Anders Custom Corn Shelling. Henry died on January 17, 2010. They were married for 69 years. Gladys enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart and belonged to the Hannah Circle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pauline Schoeder; and six brothers, John, Ernest, Elmer, Theodore, Leonard and Lester.
Gladys is survived by a son, John (Delores) Anders of Dysart; a daughter, Dorothy (Robert) Zobel of Van Horne; eight grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
