Obituaries : Jill Ann Wellborn

Jill Ann Wellborn, 42, of Waterloo, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Friday, April 25, 2014, from a brain tumor.

Jill was born February 1, 1972, in Cedar Falls, the daughter of John and Margaret (Callan) Patterson. She married James Wellborn, September 16, 2000, in Waterloo.

Jill graduated from Hudson High School in 1990 and UNI with her BA degree in Nutritional Science. She had worked for Shakey's Pizza in high school and college and for 17 years at Covenant Medical Center.

Survived by: her husband; twin sons, Brady and Benjamin; her father, John Patterson of Cedar Falls; a brother, Brent (Shelly) Patterson of Vinton; nephew Seth and niece Brynn; her grandmother, Dorothy Strein of Cedar Falls; mother-in-law, Karen Bird of LaPorte City; and her sister-in-law, Shannon Wellborn of Newport Beach, CA.

She was preceded in death by: her mother and grandparents

Services will take place 1 p.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with burial in St Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Winthrop. Visitation will be from from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, 233-6138. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a fund to benefit her sons.
