VINTON: Marcia Marie Thomsen, 62, of Vinton died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 30, 2014 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 East Sixth Street) in Vinton with Jeff Frase officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 PM on Sunday also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. A Memorial Fund has been established.

Marcia Marie Rommann was born September 28, 1951 to Dale and Marcella (Donnelly) Rommann.

She was united in marriage to Allen Thomsen on January 16, 1971 in Vinton. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2000.

Marica received her nursing degree from Kirkwood Community College in 1993. She worked as an L.P.N. at the Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab for the past 23 years.

She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit # 57.

Marcia is survived by her sons, Michael Thomsen of Gladbrook, Matthew (Inga) Thomsen and Dan (Stacie) Thomsen all of Vinton; her grandchildren, Brett, Brianna of Gladbrook, Mattison and Mackenzie Thomsen and Brelynn and Dylan Beck all of Vinton; one great grandchild, Allison Beck of Vinton and her brother, Michael Rommann also of Vinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Marcella Rommann, her mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Emma Thomsen and her husband, Allen Thomsen.
