Obituaries : Elizabeth Rodman Hemingson

Elizabeth Rodman Hemingson, 100, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Private Graveside Services will be held at the Bear Creek Cemetery north of Vinton, with Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating.

Elizabeth was born December 12, 1914 in Waterloo to Charles and Hertha (Krueger) Baker and grew up near Brandon. In 1936 she married Dean Hemingson and they farmed north east of Osage for thirty years. To this union she bore three sons, Byron, Dale, and Jerry.

Elizabeth will be greatly missed for her sense of humor and quick wit, a life time of stories, her love of gardening and especially her legendary cooking.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Judy of Runnells, Dale and Judy of Pleasant Hill, and Jerry and Ruth of Andover, MN; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean in 1976; an infant daughter and all six of her siblings.
