Theresa Margaret Kuntz

SHELLSBURG: Theresa Margaret Kuntz, 93, formerly of Minot, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at the Rockridge Care Center, Shellsburg, Iowa.

Theresa was born on February 14, 1921, the daughter of Mike and Katherine (Weninger) Pfeifer. She was united in marriage to Joseph Kuntz on November 21, 1939, at Blumenfeld Church, rural Orrin, ND. The couple farmed in Balfour area until 1980. Following retirement, the couple moved to Minot. Joe and Theresa were married for 65 years. Joe passed away on September 28, 2005.

While living on the farm she enjoyed many years of gardening. Theresa loved to crochet and made an endless number of doilies for her children and grandchildren. She also loved to travel and spent time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Theresa was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Confraternity of Christian Mothers and an active volunteer at the church.

Survivors: daughters, LaVon Sandhofner, Burlington, ND, Jannette (Roy) Shramek, Swisher, IA, Shirley (Carrol) Himes, Cedar Rapids, IA and Donna (Kevin) Ludwik, Van Horne, IA; son, Jerry (Kim) Kuntz, Ely, IA; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; infant son; son-in-law, Clem Sandhofner and sister and brother.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot

Visitation: One hour prior to the Mass with a prayer service at 10 a.m. all at the church

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
