Obituaries : Garth J. Wiebold

BLAIRSTOWN:
Garth James Wiebold, 69, passed from this earth at his home to the loving arms of his Savior on January 24, 2015.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown with Rev. David Rempfer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown with Graveside Military Rites Conducted by MJ Kirby American Legion Post #170. A Memorial Fund has been established.
Garth, the son of Gordon and Lillian (Heitshusen) Wiebold was born on June 16, 1945 in Marengo. He was baptized, and confirmed and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown.
Garth attended and then graduated in 1963 from Blairstown Consolidated Schools. Shortly after graduation he moved to California and began a career in landscaping and irrigation.
In the early 1990's Garth returned to his home town of Blairstown and enjoyed fishing with his Dad, hunting, reading western novels and traveling the "backroads" of Iowa and surrounding states.
Survivors include loving aunts, LaVonne Wilhelmi, Pat Wiebold, Gloria Stenzil, Genevieve Schumacher, Helen Heitshusen and many cousins and friends.
Garth was preceded in death by his loving parents.
