Donna McAtee

VAN HORNE: Donna Mae McAtee, 80, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born December 27, 1934 in Iowa City to Frank and Mary (Parbs) Poulson. On January 10, 1953 she was united in marriage to Donald McAtee in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2014.

Donna was employed at Amana Refrigeration prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Van Horne American Legion Auxiliary. Donna loved playing cards and mushroom hunting. Following her retirement she enjoyed her annual bus tours.

She is survived by her children, Doug of Toledo and David of Van Horne, Denise Knudtson of Palo and Diana Dawes of Van Horne; her daughter-in-law, Janet McAtee of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nadine (Jim) Anderson of Sumner.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dale; her son-in-law, Gene Knudtson; two infant great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters.

Her family wants to thank Laura “Red” Robinson, Hospice of Mercy, Virginia Gay Clinic and Phillips Funeral Home.
