Dale Franklin Hoefle,82, of Battle Ground, Wash.,, and formerly of Vinton, passed away from cancer in the presence of his family on February 8, 2016. Dale was born in Vinton, IA, October 23, 1933, to Dr. Uyless and Pearl Hoefle. Dale and LaVona Rosburg, who were high school sweethearts, married in 1952. After attending Palmer Chiropractic College and graduating from Bebout College of Chiropractic Dale set up his practice in the Midwest. Later they moved west, settling in Battle Ground, WA and purchased two service stations; in Portland, OR and at Ridgefield Junction. After selling the service stations Dale worked as an accountant before returning to his farming roots when he and LaVona moved east to Outlook, WA where they purchased an asparagus farm and also worked at Twin City Foods. Wanting to spend more time with their grandchildren they returned to Battle Ground in 1988 and were often seen in the bleachers cheering them on. Dale drove school bus for nine years before retiring so that he and LaVona could travel throughout the US and Canada. When not traveling he worked part time for three years as a crossing guard for the Battle Ground School District. Dale enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, old westerns and his family.
Dale is survived by his loving wife LaVona Hoefle of Battle Ground, WA; sister Betty Jean Gillow of San Antonio, TX; daughter Peggy Tilgner (Mike) of Battle Ground, WA; daughter Penny Gibbons (Rick) of Vancouver, WA; son Dennis Hoefle of Battle Ground, WA; daughter Paige DeLynn Barrett (Mike) of Grandview, WA; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Odella, Dean, Bonnie, Karen (Noe) and Elden.
A Celebration of Life potluck will be held at 1 pm on February 27th, 2016 at Kiwanis Park, 422 SW 2nd Ave, Battle Ground, WA.
