GARRISON:

Sue A. Hill, 59, passed away peacefully Friday, May 13, 2016 at the University Of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics surrounded by her family. She had fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E 6th St. in Vinton, with Father Ardel Barta officiating. Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., on Sunday at the funeral home. A Memorial Fund has been established

Sue was born April 5, 1957 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids to Gene and Mary Lou (Broz) Shebetka and graduated from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids.

On November 20, 1981 she was united in marriage to James Lawrence Hill in Butler, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2014.

Sue was employed in the housekeeping and laundry department at the Vinton Lutheran Home and she loved her job. She was a member of the Benton County Cancer Survivors Club. Her greatest joy in life came from being an adoring grandma to her grandchildren and spending time with her entire family.

She is survived by her father, Gene Shebetka of Cedar Rapids; her daughters, Jennifer (Travis) Losenicky of Garrison and Felicia (Chad Galli) of Urbana; her grandchildren, Tyler Losenicky and Kynsley Galli; and her brothers, Steve (Lori) Shebetka of Walford, Jim (Jodie) Shebetka of Cedar Rapids, and Bill (Kelly) Shebetka of Westchester, Ohio.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother Mary Lou; her sister, Ann Anderson; and her niece, Melissa Anderson.
