SHELLSBURG – Robyn Snyder Bull Benson, 68, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at her home in Shellsburg due to cancer.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Shellsburg Presbyterian Church with Pastor Mike Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, also at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Robyn was born November 7, 1947, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Clark and Virginia Kline Bull. Following her graduation from Shellsburg High School in 1965, she worked at Collins Credit Union.
On August 18, 1967, Robyn was united in marriage with Bill Benson at the Shellsburg Presbyterian Church. The couple moved to Kirksville, Missouri, and Robyn worked at the Osteopathic College to help put Bill through college. Robyn and Bill returned to Shellsburg following his graduation and started a family. Robyn went to work for Shellsburg Schools in order to build a garage for Bill, and she retired after 30 years.
Robyn was an avid reader. She enjoyed fishing at Arrowhead Resort in Canada and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was an Elder at the Shellsburg Presbyterian Church and a member of the Shellsburg Legion Auxiliary and Shellsburg Sorosis Club. She and Bill were members of the Hawk A Model A Ford Club and the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Robyn is survived by her husband Bill of Shellsburg; her mother, Virginia Kline Bull of Shellsburg; two daughters, Gina (Bob) Wells of Center Point and Jennifer (Andy) Vislisel of Urbana; four grandchildren: Caleb and Trevor Franzenburg and Taylor and Leah Vislisel; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Violet Haars of Marion; Velma (Vernon) Roseberry of Center Point; Helen (Edward) Wall of Richardson, TX; Anna May Comried of Plano, TX; Pat Sherman of Center Point; Kenny (Pat) Benson of Middletown, OH; Virginia Benson of Center Point and Wayne Carver of Hiawatha.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; sister-in-law Barb Carver and brothers-in-law Bob Benson, Jim Sherman and Raymond Haars.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shellsburg Library.

LS May 15, 2016, 9:35 pm My sincere sympathy for Robyn\'s family. I know she was strong throughout her battle with cancer. Her positive attitude and work ethic was always noticed in her work in my math classes.
