NEWHALL:
John L. Schlotterbeck, age 74, of Vinton, formerly of Newhall, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Vinton Lutheran Home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Pastor Steven Rempfer officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, rural Newhall. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church in Newhall. A memorial fund has been established.
John was born on May 18, 1941 in Newhall, the son of Marvin and Lois (Langham) Schlotterbeck. He was baptized on June 8, 1941 and confirmed on June 1, 1974. John graduated from Newhall High School with the class of 1960. He farmed with his father in the Newhall area and was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
