VINTON:  Wayne A. Maser, age 65, died Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home in Vinton. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be beginning at 5:00 pm, on Saturday, July 28th, 2018 at the George G. Luckey American Legion Hall in Vinton. Wayne was born on October 30, 1952 in Waterloo the son of Leroy and Alene (Beal) Maser.  He graduated from LaPorte City High School with the class of 1970.  He served his country from 1970 through 1974 in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. Wayne worked as a maintenance mechanic at John Deere in Waterloo and in production at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids.  He also farmed and raised cattle in Missouri prior to returning to Iowa.  Wayne was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping.  He enjoyed playing cards and socializing.  He also loved music and enjoyed attending many concerts throughout his life. He is survived by his children, Shawn Maser of Batesville, AR, Dustin Maser of Vinton and Lisa (James) Rowe of Minneapolis, MN; his grandson Daniel Maser; sisters, Lois Spillman and Joleen Maser, both of Waterloo; half-sisters, Shirley (Roy) Wyatt and Barbara (Duane) Kimpton; half-brothers, LeRoy Maser, Jr. and Eugene Maser, all of Wisconsin; and his sisters-in-law, Marge Maser of Charles City and Lanell Maser of LaPorte City.
