Ruby Ann (Lint) Wheeler
GARRISON: Ruby Ann (Lint) Wheeler, 74 of Garrison died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at her home following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Phillips Family Center (605 Second Avenue) in Vinton with Rev. Jim Blair officiating. Interment will be in Garrison Cemetery. Friends may call at the Family Center from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday. A Memorial Fund has been established.
Ruby was born September 25, 1936 to Carl Edward and Mary (Vogt) Lint at Shellsburg. She graduated from Garrison High School in 1955. Ruby was united in marriage to Charles “Charlie” Wheeler on August 28, 1955 at the Bretheran Church in Garrison. Charlie preceded Ruby in death on March 16, 2004.
In her leisure Ruby enjoyed playing games on the computer, helping her Garrison neighbors and was known as an excellent cook and baker. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruby is survived by her four sons, Randy (LeAnna) Wheeler Sr. and Gary Wheeler Sr. all of Garrison, Jimmy (Sri) Wheeler and Donald (Claudette) Wheeler all of Vinton; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and her two brothers, Don (Bev) Lint and Dean (Waneta) Lint all of Garrison.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda in infancy.
