Barbara Jane Duncan, age 66, died at St. Luke's Unity Point Wednesday, March 16, 2022, following complications from an ongoing illness. Private family services will be held in Sun City West, AZ.
Barb was born October 10, 1955, to Arthur and Ruby (Snapp) Duncan in Indianapolis, IN. In 1973, she graduated from W.R. Boone High School in Orlando, FL. Barb was employed as a secretary at Kendrick Memorial Hospital in Mooresville, IN, until she was forced to retire due to health issues and moved to Iowa to be with family.
Barb was a lifelong animal lover but especially cats. She had several during her life, all of whom she named, "Kitty". She enjoyed following the Hawkeyes and other Iowa sports teams on TV and was an avid reader. In recent years she was very active on Facebook, where being a proud pet parent, "Kitty" took center stage. Barb was also a passionate advocate of the Donor Network program and was able to help others with a cornea donation.
Her memory will be cherished by her brothers, Larry Duncan and his wife, Sharon of Hickory, NC, and Dennis Duncan and his wife, Renee of Buford, GA; her sister, Deb Heitland and her husband, Les of Sun City, AZ; several loving nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Nick Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Gary and David Duncan.
Barb will be remembered as a loving daughter and sister.
