A Celebration of Erik's life will be held on Saturday, April 15, at the Wildcat Country Club, located at 100 Wildcat Trail, Shellsburg, Iowa. There will be an open house from 1-4:00 p.m. with a brief ceremony at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to invite you to join them as they gather to celebrate Erik's life. Please send stories or photos to be shared at the service to memories@erikstuder.com.

Erik was born on June 28, 1996, in Des Moines to Dean and Christine Studer. He grew up and lived in Vinton, Iowa.

We had hoped Erik would spend many more years with us as an uncle, brother, son, and husband. He was a source of joy and comfort in our lives.

Erik invested his heart into everything he did, whether representing Vinton-Shellsburg on the football field, working in the woods on his family's property, or playing disc golf with friends. He earned the respect and affection of everyone he worked and played with. His colleagues and friends admired his strong character.

Erik loved music, sports, the beauty of nature, and working with his hands. An effortless uncle, he interacted with his nieces and nephews with his whole heart. He was curious and empathetic toward others. He was gentle, taking care of cats and other vulnerable creatures. He was generous, supporting his loved ones with fierce loyalty.

Erik considered himself blessed. He felt nothing as strongly as his love for his family.

Erik was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Francis and Ione Grandgeorge.

His memory will be cherished by his friends and family, especially his paternal grandparents, Maxine and Rollin; his nieces and nephews: Lloyd, Oswin, Iona, Ingrid, Wilfred, and Franklin; his siblings: Seth (Nicole), Camille (Nick), Laura (Jonathan), Emily (John), Nile (Kaiti), and Sophia; his fiancée, Paige; and his parents, Dean and Christine.

Condolences can be sent to Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton-in lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Memorial Fund that will be established in Erik's name.
