Diane Berniece Buckingham

VINTON-Diane Berniece Buckingham, 75, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023. Per Diane's wishes there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Diane's family.

Diane was born July 10, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Paul J. and Berniece (Fritz) Duello. She graduated from Washington High School, Vinton in 1965. On May 7, 1966, Diane was united in marriage to Kurt L. Buckingham.

Diane is survived by her son, Brian (April) Buckingham; daughter, Amy (John) Zimmerman; grandchildren: Austin, Bailey, Isabelle, Joey and Lexi; brother, Bob (Leita) Duello; three sisters: LeAnn (Mark) Thieman, Mary (Ray) Panosh and Teresa (Jim) Duello; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years, Kurt; three brothers: Denny, Roger and Keith Duello; and nephew, Paul Duello.

A memorial fund has been established.

KT May 2, 2023, 9:14 pm Feeling so sad on the loss of the nicest person one could ever meet. Diane was a special person. I didn't know her well, but she was so good to my grandsons, (the Rippel boys) that cut her bushes and did some favors for her. She had a big heart and shared her kindness. RB May 3, 2023, 1:45 pm My thoughts and prayers to the Duello and Buckingham family. I was glad to have known Diane, as we did joke,seems like forever. Couldn't ask for a better friend. Sad to say we hadn't talked for awhile. You're free. Rest now.
