Susan C. Walker, 56, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, with Chaplain Brian Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Susan was born November 13, 1967, the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Anderson) Walker. She attended school in Vinton, graduating from Washington High School in 1986.
Susan was a "true blue" lover of dogs, and coming in second for "love" was the world of MMA fighting.
Susan is survived by her brother, Mike of Cedar Rapids; cousin, Mary Williams of Vinton; special friend, Mary Benson of Vinton; her beloved dogs, Luna and Lucy; and several other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial fund has been established for various dog shelters in Susan's name.
