VINTON:

     Ricky “Ricky D” Dietrich, 50, died Monday June 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a courageous battle.

     Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 9 to 11 am. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clarke E. Frederick officiating.

     Survivors include his mother, Shirley (Possehl) Dietrich; his four brothers, Jerry Dietrich of Cedar Rapids IA, Jim Dietrich of Norway IA, Terry (Karee) Dietrich of Newhall IA, and David Dietrich of Vinton IA. Also his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dietrich.

     Ricky Joe Dietrich was born April 4, 1961 in Cedar Rapids. He was the son of Shirley (Possehl) and Richard Dietrich. He graduated from Washington High School in Vinton. He worked on the family farm during high school and after graduation. Ricky worked his whole life until he became disabled. He loved the outdoors, especially Deer Hunting; he loved to go to the Casino on his birthday; and he loved going to dances with his brother David.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
