Obituaries : Richard Joseph Nanneman

Richard Joseph Nanneman, 80, of South Pasadena, CA, passed away Monday, May 27th, 2024.

He was born October 10th, 1943 in Chariton County, MO to George Edward and Maxine Catherine (Poss) Nanneman. He married Karen Kay (Bednar) Bergen Nanneman on May 22nd, 1981 in Vinton, IA and she preceded him in death on March 14th, 2017.

Richard worked at Hawk-Bilt in Vinton before moving to Naples, FL in 1982. Richard lived in Naples, Fl from 1982 until 2023 where he was active in St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed growing plants of all kinds, from tomato to mango to macadamia to palm.

He is survived by 3 children (with former spouse Kathryn (Carpenter) Nanneman), Colleen Nanneman of South Pasadena, CA, Rick Nanneman of Seattle, WA, and Keith Nanneman of Austin, TX; 2 step children, Lori Smith (Mark) of Vinton, IA, and Joe Bergen (Kim) of Shenandoah, IA; two brothers, Bill Nanneman (Luann) of Columbia, MO, Ray Nanneman (Beth) of Salisbury, MO; three sisters, Catherine Keevan (Glenn) of Foristell, MO, Joann Best, and Norma Weimer (Larry) of Salisbury, MO.; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents; three brothers, Dale, Vincent and Dennis Nanneman; one sister, Margaret Nanneman.

Services will be held at 11 am, with visitation at 9 am, on June 22nd, 2024 at St Joseph's Church in Salisbury, MO.
