Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, also at the funeral home. The family requests casual dress or racing attire for visitation and the service. A memorial fund has been established.
Scott was born on June 22, 1980, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, the son of Cliff and Rose (Vopalka) Beauregard. He graduated from Center Point-Urbana High School with the class of 1999. He was active in 4-H, participated in cross country, was a manager for the football team and was a member of the youth council. Scott graduated from Indian Hills Community College with a degree in auto-body repair. On April 15, 2006, Scott was united in marriage to Tracy Benson in Independence.
Scott was employed at Bob Mickey Collision Repair. Scott loved cars and racing. He raced stock cars in Independence, Vinton and at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids. A talented body-man, Scott restored a number of muscle cars and race cars for his friends at his home shop over the years. He faithfully attended the Super Nationals in Boone for almost 20 years. He was a member of the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department for several years. Scott dearly loved his family. Yearly fishing trips to Bemidji, MN were a family tradition. Scott wouldn't touch a fish or a leech but fortunately he had assistants to help with those tasks. He was also part of the Linn County Sheep Committee, and Best of the Best. He also loved his cats.
Scott is survived by his wife Tracy; 3 sons, Lane Benson, Landon Wood, and Brayden Beauregard; his parents, Cliff and Rose Beauregard of Center Point; sister, Casey (Brian) Taylor and their children, Cameron and Tristan; brother, Matthew (Julia) Beauregard and their children, Kennedy, Avery, Taylor and Colton; his in-laws, Mike and Susan Benson of Urbana; 2 sisters-in-law, Amy Benson and her son Dakota; Kari (Josh) Burkhart, and their children, Cameron, Hudson and Henry; his uncle Keith (Carol) Beauregard; many other aunts, uncles, cousins; and his racing family.
He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his uncle Dean Beauregard.
