Ralph Herman Albers, age 84, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City from complications of a recent fall.
A private family graveside service will be held in accordance with Ralph's wishes.
Ralph Herman Albers was born at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton on May 28, 1940; the son of John and Elsie (Cohrt) Albers.
Ralph attended school in Mount Auburn. He was a lifelong farmer of the land and never retired. He was living his best life when he was driving a tractor. He worked at Theisens and was a delivery driver for Apex Office Supplies. Ralph served for 30 years on the Mount Auburn Fire Department.
Ralph is survived by and will terribly missed by his longtime companion, Mary Ann Cue, Nieces Lorry Evans, Teresa Floyd, Karen (Bret) Smith, Kathy (Harry) Hight, Sue (Steve) Belmer and Jamie Harter. Two Nephews Danny (Sandy) Evans and David (Andrea) Evans. Great nieces and nephews, Patrick Floyd, Nathanael (Jessica Lieb) Smith, Nicholas (Leslie) Smith, Samantha Floyd, Colton Smith, Breanne (Ben) Steenhoven, Corrine Smith, Sonnie Evans, Jennelle Smith, Russell Evans, Jon Evans and Kail Evans. Six great great nieces and nephews, Cort, Charlotte, Abram, Ledger, Kohen and Wilkes. Mary Ann's son JD (Sondra) Cue and their children Emily, Lila, Eli. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother John Albers, sister-in-law Mary Albers, sister Doris Evans, brother-in-law Gail Evans, nephew-in-law Gordon Floyd and great-great nephew Lane Alan Smith.
