Joseph Charles Fisher, 71, of Cedar Rapids, IA, formerly of Belle Plaine, IA, passed away April 11, 2025 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
Joseph was born March 11, 1954 to Clifford and Blanche (Drahos) Fisher in Belle Plaine. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School, class of 1972. Joseph went to work for Amana Refrigeration, retiring at the age of 62.
Joseph was a stubborn Bohemian with a great love for his family. His daughter and granddaughter, "Bubach" as he would call her, were his everything. He was his daughter's biggest supporter for her love of music, attending all of her concerts.
He was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Belle Plaine, taking on maintenance duties and projects with his mom.
Joseph enjoyed collecting lighting rod balls, weathervanes and bar top handles with his daughter. Joseph liked woodworking and crafts, painting bowling pins and making holiday ornaments for every season. He took pride in decorating his yard for Christmas and cherished time with family and friends during the holidays. He even played Santa for many community and work events.
Joseph is survived by his better half, Ruth Goyer of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Emily (Kean Peacock) Fisher of Cedar Rapids, granddaughter, NovaRae Peacock; brother, David (Sandra) Fisher of Cedar Rapids; nephew, Randy Fisher of Mount Vernon; and niece, Christine Mc Murry of Hiawatha; Ruths sister, Theresa Ann Trimble; Ruths brother-in-law, Doug Corporon; dear friends and neighbors, Bill and Chrissy Jones, and dear friend, Sue Hearn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Cathrine Fisher.
Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
