Alta Pritchett, 84, formerly of Vinton, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton with Rev. Scott Boucher officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon to service time on Tuesday. A Memorial Fund has been established.

Alta was born July 27, 1925 at Swifton, Arkansas to Albert and Linnie (Henderson) Vaughn. On March 15, 1941 she married J. C. Pritchett at Hornersville, MO.

For over twenty-five years, Alta was employed at Wilson & Co. in Cedar Rapids.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Butts of Vinton, Barbara (Don) Andrews of Marion, and Bonnie Pritchett of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Cliff Tharp, Dawana Triasak, Debra Bahr, Jim Bevins, Michael Bevins, Lynn Bevins, Shane Pritchett, and Troy Pritchett; twenty-two great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and four sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. C.; her son Ray Pritchett; and six siblings.
