Atkins:Lucille B. Long Karr, 95, of Atkins, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, January 1, 2012.Services:10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 5th, 2012, Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue, Vinton with Pastor Mike Andrew officiating.Interment:Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.Visitation:4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday also at the Family Center.A Memorial Fund has been established.

Lucy was born on September 24, 1916 in Rowley, Iowa and was the daughter of Albert and Alice McAtee Joyce.She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and sisters, her husbands Waldo Buster Long and Raymond Karr and her beloved sons Bert, Ronnie, and Gene Long.

Survivors include her children, Colleen (Larry) Hertle of Forsythe, MO, Joyce (Larry) Gahring, Atkins, Nancy Long, Vinton, Gloria Kammerer of Lake St. Louis, MO, Larry Long of Shellsburg, Richard (Mary) Schoonover, Vinton.

She loved all thirteen grandchildren:Tracey Brunssen, Angie Bright, DeAnn Welbes, Randy and Daryn Fennern, Kristine Norton, Kent and Kurt Kammerer, Penny Wilson, John Long, Danette Schutjer, Danene Starr, and Alisa Kinseth.She cherished her twenty-eight great grandkids:Jordyn, Lea, Nash, Jaynee, Katie, Joy, Holly Alex, Tyler, Baylee, Zach, Kenzie, Travis, Tyler, Sarah, Kyle, Danielle, Karl, Jamie, Kim, John Jr., Julie, Josh, Nathan, Matthew, Ashley, Delisha, and Desirre’. She was also blessed with eleven great great grandchildren.
