BLAIRSTOWN: George W. Kimmich, 89, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown.Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 20th at the funeral home.Interment will be held at the Marengo Cemetery in Marengo, Iowa.
George was born November 8, 1923 in Marengo to George Christian and Frances (Jones) Kimmich.
On March 9, 1945 he was united in marriage to Nae Dean Simpson in Missouri.She preceded him in death.
George was a farmer prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his children, Becky (Gene) De Neve of Blairstown, Connie (Bob) Meier of Hunting Beach, CA, Vicki (John) Schilling of Rickardsville, Debra Yates of Cedar Rapids, and Alan (Char) Kimmich of Cascade; twenty grandchildren; and thirty-nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson and his sisters, Lois and Ferne.
