Ruby Fae Kellogg

KEYSTONE: Ruby Fae Kellogg, 88, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone where she had been a resident since May of 2001.

Private Graveside services will be held at the Garrison Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m., on Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone. A memorial fund has been established for the Keystone Nursing Care Center.

Ruby was born July 24, 1924 in Vinton to Marion Russell and Helen (Henkle) Alcott.

On March 9, 1942 she married Herbert "Herby" Kellogg in Kahoka, MO, in a double wedding with her brother, Harold Alcott to his wife, Doris. The couple resided in the Keystone-Dysart area for fifty-seven years. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2002.

Ruby had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Garrison

She is survived by her daughters, Norma (Ralph) Cole of Phoenix, Arizona, and Barbara (Garold) Lerch of Norway; six grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren; and her brother, Harold Alcott of Blairstown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Mabel Hale; her great grandson, Michael Cole; and her sisters, Lillian Jones, and Florence Thompson.
