To the Editor: A good definition of political correctness

Some time ago a friend sent me the following email. This lays it on the line as to how we are being manipulated by the progressive elite media. Each year there is an annual contest at Texas A & M University for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term this year's term was "Political Correctness" Which if followed does not allow us to engage in meaningful debate.

Honoring a veteran who did not receive the thanks he deserved

Veterans Day means different things to everyone. An event happened to me a few years ago that I will never forget and that I think needs retold. A gentleman visited our nursery in June, just after the ornamental trees had given up their uniqueness and the catalpa trees were in full bloom.

Just my "Opinion" here...but I can think of a couple obvious reasons...Wind and Water. When there is important news in Vinton, we keep you in touch with the neighbors and the officials in town.

A few have asked if we planned to endorse a candidate for this year's election. We shy away from doing that, but this year I decided it was time to take a stand and do exactly that.
