Letter to the Editor: Is inflation under control?

We have all heard our President say how good his Bidennomics is performing, but it is this - as a kinder critic would say “a tall tale” or as logic tells us a lie. In fact, President Biden has been telling “tall tales” his entire career. Inflation is under control and is lessening?

Under President Trump my small order of McDonald's fries was $2.02; just today that small fry order was $2.45. That is an increase of 21.29 %. An oil change on my Ford Escape used to cost $42,00 now is $62,00 – an increase of 47.62 %. Yep, inflation is under control and is lower.

As James Carville said during President Bill Clinton’s first run; “It’s the economy, stupid”. Yep, it sure is. “Stupid is as Stupid does”.

Substitute carrot sticks or a fruit salad. 2) You should trade-in your IC engine driven auto for an EV. Environmentally advantageous and you’ll never have to worry about an oil change. RB September 11, 2023, 4:01 pm Much of inflation was caused by supply chain issues originating during the pandemic and energy. No one mentions corporate greed. Just yesterday Saudi Arabia and Russia announced they will be cutting production further through 2023. It’s amazing gas went up $.30/gallon the very next day. Should I believe whole sale and distribution will change in one day? Oil companies can make as much or more by producing less. Let that sink in! The president has nothing to do with that. Want gas prices lower? Embrace developing renewable energy! Corporations are gouging us. Drugs costs are 10 times the cost of western countries yet Republicans vote against fighting big pharma. Unemployment is at an all time low and over 13 million jobs have been created under Biden. We have more manufacturing jobs right now that in a long time. That is Biden economics. The economy nearly collapsed under Bush and was shut down under Trump. Clinton left Bush a budget surplus and Bush left Obama an economy near collapse. Trump left Biden unemployment around 10% and an economy that was shut down. Some of you need to study history! What is more amazing is that criminal Trump is the runaway leader for the Republican Party. 91 indictments, fraudulent university, fraudulent foundation, hush money to a porn star, million in a sexual abuse settlement, stolen classified documents, and trying to overthrow a legitimate election. You people need to wake up and smell the roses. Imagine if Obama had done 1/100th what that scumbag Trump has done?

PK September 10, 2023, 5:54 pm I was drinking my coffee on a quiet Sunday morning when Biden's face appeared on GMA. In Viet Nam, I believe. After his other conference was over. My first thought was...well, I can't say that here. Valerie couldn't print it. [You can add your own adjectives and expletives as you feel necessary.] Regardless, I was thinking; I wonder how much money-the US doesn't have-did Biden generously give away on this trip. It's his only chance to be a "big shot" because he isn't back here at home. Check his numbers. VP Harris's are even worse. She wouldn't know, however, because she's too busy trying to improve her image by thumbing through the thesaurus and learning how to keep her foot out of her mouth. I must admit-on the rare occasions when she is let out in public-that the clothes Karine Jean-Pierre picked out for her are more snappy. [She has to do something well.] Right? Because "I wasn't aware of that," or "I'm not going to discuss that," or "I'll look into that," are getting old and monotonous. Just like her boss! [I hope you can recognize sarcasm!] I want a President who worries more about his poor...his seniors...his vets and America BEFORE the $$ are handed out for the illegal immigrants and placed into the hands of the leaders of other countries!! I do not believe that's expecting too much!! Let's put someone else in the White House and eliminate Political Apathy!!

SG September 8, 2023, 4:47 pm I just heard that drilling will now cease in Alaska. Are our oil researches depleted yet? Bidenomincs…how high will gas go now? I don’t care which Republican is on the ticket they have my vote. I can’t survive much longer with Biden’s “accomplishments.”

GB September 8, 2023, 1:35 pm Bidenomics are a joke, concealed in a lie. There is only one way to stop inflation and that is to stop printing and spending money. That's it! We can't keep giving Ukraine billions of dollars or funding millions of illegal migrants who have flooded into this country illegally. Then as if that isn't enough, this President decides he wants to forgive student debt! Clearly this is nothing short of vote buying for a corrupt politician and political party. I would much rather Crooked Joe hand over some of that money he got from China to pay off whatever student debt he wishes. Its disgusting that he makes these deals at the expense of the American tax payers. The biggest problem with the way these clowns are running this country right now is that eventually, they will run out of other people's money..

DC September 8, 2023, 1:33 pm The puppet just does as he is told by his handlers. It's not inflation, it's just price increases and it's Trumps fault. I'll beat them to it. On my way to a shooting match last weekend a hot beef, mashed potatoes, and gravy was $14.99 at a mom and pop restaurant. What would Biden know about inflation he can't find his way off the stage?
