It was another great weekend in Vinton thanks in a huge part to the behind the scenes residents who organize, plan and then set up the events for Boomfest and Boomtown. On Friday night a team was marking the pavement for booth slots for vendors to set up the following morning. WIth 93 slots to shop from in downtown Vinton, the town was buzzing with activity.
Several options were available to shoppers from baked goods, to wine, candles and hair care, Vinton had it all to offer. Opportunity for kids of all ages to have a bit of fun on the pedal cars saw more than 300 riders. With food trucks sold out, and the local Lions on a prowl to Fareway for more supplies, the demand of shoppers boosted area revenue.
Not to be outdone, the work to put on a fireworks display to remember, is also unappreciated. The hours of planning and prep, set up time, and expertise in placing the displays are again unseen...until the first fuse is lit.
Thank you to all of the men and women who participate in this spectacular display!
To all of you who put your skills to work for the benefit of the community, you're amazing! While behind the scenes, none of you ask for any recognition or any special thanks, but thank you for all of your effort this year to make this a "booming" success!
What a great day for Vinton!
