Opinion : Letter to the Editor: Understanding Insurance Companies

Dear Editor,

$250,000, now $140,000!

And hopefully, not another high-dollar payout claim that's possible. But what a RELIEF that the supervisors reassured the taxpayers of Benton County that we are still in good standing with Heartland Insurance Company, our liability insurance provider.

Now if I did something that warranted large claims as such, other than an act of GOD, my premium would be raised who knows by how much! Or most likely be canceled! Hmmmm!

Since Heartland Insurance is so 'understanding', I wonder whether they would provide each and everyone of us taxpayers INDIVIDUALLY the kind of liability insurance we may need! Wonder what is their phone number?
