Dear Editor,
This has been an absolute horrible week for Americans trying to survive an ill-conceived plan to wreck our economy and ruin everyone's retirement accounts. In addition, our Commander in Chief embarrassed our country by opting out of honoring four soldiers who lost their lives to go golfing with his Saudi Arabian friends. There were some positive squeezed in with the mayhem of our President's actions. (JS how's your portfolio doing now? Not exactly the riches you thought would be coming?)
On Tuesday, the voters of Wisconsin said no to Trump and no to Musk's money and approved a *gasp* liberal judge for the state's Supreme Court. After Musk made a real fool out of himself at a rally last Sunday, the voters said no thank you to MAGA.
Monday and through Tuesday night Senator Cory Booker broke Segregationist Strom Thrumond's record of a speech on the Senate floor, clocking in at over 25 hours. I did not tune in for a lot of the time, but I still think I watched more than MAGA and their cohorts who couldn't bare to hear the truth about the effects of their leader is putting our country through. I have met Senator Booker a few times and always found his opinions compelling.
Saturday, thousands across the country came together to protest the many policies Trump and Musk have put into place to uproot the core of what made America great and now is in shambles. I was not able to attend any protests as I had an all-day church meeting in Iowa City. But I would like to know where it was that protesters could sign up to be paid to attend by George Soros as Musk claims. I really want to know where that is because I have never been paid or offered to be paid to protest anything and I could sure use the extra cash.
Rather than write about the disaster that Trump has caused with his tariffs not only in the US but worldwide and to keep MAGA from jumping off a bridge in pure desperation, I have a question to ask;
Can someone explain to me what Trump's obsession with the word "groceries" is? Since the campaign it appears as though he heard the word for the first time and is in awe of its meaning. Here are three quotes he has made groceries. Trump; "I won on groceries. Very simple word, groceries. Like almost, you know, who uses the word. The groceries. When you buy apples, when you buy bacon, when you buy eggs, they double and triple the price over a short period of time."

"It's such an old-fashioned term but a beautiful term: groceries," he mused. "It sort of says a bag with different things in it."

"I won on the border, and I won on groceries," Trump said. Highlighting the struggles everyday individuals feel, Trump referred to the rising grocery prices as the main focus of his campaign.
"Very simple word, groceries," Trump continued. "When you buy apples, when you buy bacon, when you buy eggs, they would double and triple the price over a short period of time, and I won an election based on that."

I don't know about you, but I make a sojourn to a "grocery" store to pick up my "groceries" every week. I realize that Trump probably has never bought his own groceries, but groceries is a simple word, not a word that should illicit wonderment. If groceries are an old-fashioned word, what is the new word we should be saying?
Regardless what his supporters think, most of us realized that Trump is not the sharpest tool in shed. He lacks basic knowledge of some of the most well-known words and ideas including history that most of us use and instinctive know every day. The thing that is even more perplexing is that he keeps on repeating his astonishment of the "beautiful" word groceries.
On a serious note, however, I do not like to throw out the word dementia or Alzheimer's disease as a reason for some of Trump's actions. But this fascination with an idea or a word and his repeating it over and over is actually a sign of dementia. My mother-in-law who died as a result of Alzheimer's disease was mystified by clouds. Over and over, she would ask what those white things were in the sky and marvel at the shapes. I wonder.

All you do is hate on Trump. You have no message. The Democrats have no leader or any focus on anything except to hate Trump. That isn't a message. It is an illness.
Does the title “Grifter in Chief” come with a hat?

In addition you fail to recognize the cost to go back and forth to Florida more than Delaware. Plus Trump is charging the government for use and expenses of the Secret Service etc. at Mar-a-lago. In essence making money off the taxpayer. Finally from your article;
"An investigation by Snopes shared that the RNC's data counted 'partial days' off as full vacation days, and included locations that Biden was working from.
The publication cited September 3, 2021, as a mistaken vacation day. The RNC claimed he was on vacation, however, his public calendar stated that he was in Louisiana to address hurricane relief efforts.
The publication argued that Biden only spent about 117 days on vacation, which would account for 8 percent of his presidency.
Snopes also found that Biden spent 109 days at Camp David or his personal residence in Delaware, locations that he often worked from.
CNN reported in 2022 that Biden spent over 25 percent of his presidency working from his home in Delaware. …
The Washington Post argued in 2022 that Biden's trips were typically to Wilmington and his house in Rehoboth Beach, which cost the Secret Service less money than transporting Trump to his residences in Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster, New Jersey.

Also how do you know what Trump or Biden did/does on Air Force One? Trump loves to be the center of attention. Just because he regularly talks to the press does not indicate what he does the rest of the time. As well as, you don't know what Biden was doing either. Your comment is nothing more than an insult to further denigrate the former President.

President Donald Trump’s enemies have never understood him, and the same goes for some of his erstwhile-yet-lukewarm supporters.
For instance, those who have made fortunes in markets, confident that the value of their paper assets will continued to climb over the long term no matter what they do, and deriving that confidence in part from the fact that the federal government has bailed them out in the past, will never understand that the twin pillars of Trump’s statecraft — an America-first tariff policy and a commitment to destroying the deep state — explain precisely why millions of ordinary Americans who placed their faith in the president will continue to support him through hell if necessary.
According to the Associated Press, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday that the tariff policy he began implementing on Wednesday — “Liberation Day,” the president called it — has already paid dividends, as leaders from around the world have approached the president “dying to make a deal.”
The total number of nations hoping to reach an agreement on tariffs exceeded 50, per the AP.
“I spoke to a lot of leaders, European, Asian, from all over the world,” Trump told reporters. “They’re dying to make a deal. And I said, we’re not going to have deficits with your country. We’re not going to do that, because to me a deficit is a loss. We’re going to have surpluses or, at worst, going to be breaking even.”

Trump hasn't even been in office 6 months yet and according to her the country is destroyed. He hasn't been in office long enough to accomplish some of the things he is being blamed for. Sure, not everyone is going to agree with everything he does but that is the same as it would be with any president. You can't please everyone all the time.
You talk about how many days Trump is out golfing. He has probably done a full day of work before he ever hit the golf course. And I would bet that a lot of work gets done on those golf courses. Just because he isn't setting in the White House doesn't mean he isn't working. After all you were telling how much work Biden "supposedly" accomplished when he wasn't in the White House. I actually think they tried to keep Biden away from the White House to cover up how much his mind had declined.
And not everyone's retirement accounts have taken a dive. Maybe some, but not everyone's. When you invest that is just something that happens at times. It's a fact, investments go up and down.
I really think we all need to relax and enjoy life. How is all this worrying and obsession going to give any of us one more day if God decides it's time to take us?
Without specifics, it's just a "many people say..." and "everybody knows..." that's never anywhere close to the actual truth.
Whirlpool has a factory 45 miles from here - if you don't have a Whirlpool, Maytag, or Kitchenaide, or heck, even old Amana items, sitting there keeping your keeping your beer & pizzas cold, I don't want to hear about "Buy American" and "bringing manufacturing back".
Anyone else remember when the MAGAt cult was all outraged that Obama spent $100 million on golfing during his presidency? Der Cultleader even said he'd be too busy to golf - the crickets that he cost half-again more in half the time is deafening.
It's going to be interesting to find out who was actually running the country when Biden was in office. I’m betting It wasn't the side chick Harris either.
So you really think Trump has dementia? You really are insane. You would argue to the death that Biden was mentally there when he wasn’t, but Trump who is kicking butt on the world’s economic stage is losing his mind? You have a Trump obsession that is clouding your reasoning.
