Sports : VS wrestling camp set for July 29-13; free for all district wrestlers

Vinton-Shellsburg wrestlers are invited to a free wrestling camp, where they will meet the new coach of the Viking wrestling club, All-American wrestler James Locke.

Camp takes place Monday, July 29, through Wednesday, July 31, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. While the camp is free for VS wrestlers, cost is $30 for those from other school districts. Wrestlers of all ages and all levels of experience are invited.

Registration will take place at the door on July 29; participants should arrive a little early that evening to allow time to sign up.

Locke competed in high school wrestling in Minnesota before enrolling in Coe College.

Other instructors will include Northwestern assistant wrestling coach and former Iowa Hawkeye and NCAA Champion Jay Borschel, along with Wartburg assistant coach Chris Ortner.
