We had another experience with storms and lightening; the teams were called off of the Solon course for an hour after approximately four holes. After returning to the course, the 18 holes were able to be completed. I was very pleased that the V-S girls broke 400; none of them had played this course before and it shows steady improvement from our young ladies. We were proud to have two of our sophomores, Kaiti and Lauren bring home medals! Kaiti Kilpatrick and Olivia Ketchen both had birdies; Kaiti had low putts with 36. Sophomore Olivia Ketchen shot a 49 on the front nine, her first score in the 40s during high school competition.
Saturday varsity will play in an annual 18 hole tournament at South Tama. Regionals are not until May 27, so we are pleased to have this opportunity to play against some excellent competition in the 18 hole format.
