The Vinton-Shellsburg High School girls soccer team improved its record to 9-6 with a big win over Monticello in the two last game of the season on Friday and Saturday
Playing on their home field, the Vikettes defeated Monticello, 7-1 on Friday. Then on Saturday, they traveled to Manchester, where they defeated West Delaware, 4-3.
The Vikettes face the tough challenge of playing Union in their first game of the post-season. The Knights lost their first four games but have won 12 straight to end their regular season.
The nine wins is the most in Vikette soccer history; the team has won two games in a row four times this season.
