On Saturday, the VS Bowling team had its annual Vinton-Shellsburg 9 Pin Bowling fundraising tournament. In the 9 Pin tournament, bowlers were able to score a strike by knocking down 9 of the 10 pins. We saw a lot of great bowling and everyone had a lot of fun!
We had 79 bowlers compete in the 9 Pin Tournament. One of highlights from the afternoon was the opportunity to win one of the 10 custom designed bowling pins. Another highlight was that family and friends had the opportunity to bowl with some of the VS High School bowling team members. Whether you were an experienced bowler or a beginner all were welcomed.
Coach Amber Pattee awarded the trophies to the first three places in each of the following age groups.
10-Under Group:

2nd Place: Brai Lessig
3rd Place: Vann Lessig
11-18 Year Old Group:
1st Place: Ethan Dedrick
2nd Place: Cole Garwood
3rd Place: Tyler Rasmussen
19 & Older Group:
1st Place: Rick Wood
2nd Place: Charlie Garwood
3rd Place: Tammy Hobbs

If you attended the fundraising event or made a donation to the VS Bowling team, we "THANK YOU." With your contributions we will continue to build a successful bowling program for the Vinton-Shellsburg school district. We also want to thank Berry's Lanes for supporting the VS Bowling team in this fundraiser and for hosting our practices/competitions for this season.
The bowling season practices will start on November 10th. All competitions start at 4:00 pm.
