The Union Knights struck quickly in the first half and rode a 14-12 lead into the locker room at
half time. New Hampton scored first in the second half to go up 18-14. Union responded with a great comeback and led 20-18 until Tenge scored on a 37 yard pass to make the final score New Hampton 26, Union 20. Union had the ball with just under one minute but an interception on a tipped ball allowed New Hampton to run the clock out. Union tied a record for longest pass completion with a bomb from Brady Driscol to Dylan Bear for 97 yards and Driscol also set a record for most passing yards in one game with 297. Union finished the seventh consecutive year going to the playoffs with an 8-3 record and were the 2A D6 district champion with a 6-0 record.
