Ty Stueck of rural Vinton is the repeat C.R. Optimists Golfer of the Year
Optimist Club members congratulate Ty on his award.
Tyler Stueck will be a senior at Vinton-Shellsburg this fall. He was selected last year as the "Golfer of the Year" through the Cedar Rapids Optimist Junior Golf Association (CROJGA), and also won the honor again this year. Tyler competed in five different tournaments this summer. Each was an 18 hole event consisting of anywhere from 16-32 boys in his division. The Golfer of the year is the individual who scored the most points by placing in each of the tournaments.
June 18th at Airport National, Tyler placed 2nd out of 16 with a round of 67 as well as his first hole in one.
June 29th at Gardner, Tyler placed 2nd out of 35 with a round of 78.
July 13th at Ellis, Tyler placed 3rd out of 31 with a round of 77.
July 22nd at Jones, Tyler placed 1st out of 32 with a round of 72.
July 27th at Twin Pines, Tyler placed 4th out of 26 with a round of 73.
