Key Point(s) of the Game from Coach Hadachek:
“Number one, we were able to establish the line of scrimmage with our offensive line which opened holes for the run game. To jump out to a 21-0 halftime lead was important for our team to take a step to get better. The defense stepped up and dominated the line of scrimmage while the special teams continued to be consistent.”
Individual Performance(s) Comments from Coach Hadachek:
“Isaiah Vaughan continues to get better as we head into district play. We were also very pleased with the offensive line being physical for two consecutive games. Hennessy, Renaud and Ahrendsen really pack a punch. Douglass and Newgren continue to get better. Defensively we did another great job playing against the run but need to not give up big plays. It’s never the same position but when one person does not do his job the team suffers. Michael Ahrendsen, Jace Glenn, Tate Hookham and Jared Jolley all graded at 90% of above. They are playing at a winning level.”
Comment on South Tama from Coach Hadachek:
“South Tama has a great football team with a lot of returning starters on both sides of the ball. They always have a great kicker and are solid on special teams. Their team speed is a great asset with running backs that are very physical. We have our work cut out for us. They are 3-0 with wins over Grinnell, Vinton Shellsburg and Iowa Falls. In addition we will be going on the road to their home field and I’m sure it will be a friendly atmosphere. The main focus for us right now is to have a great week of preparation and control what we can control.”
