After defeating East Marshall, 38-14, last Friday, the Union Knights are preparing for their Homecoming game this week vs. Aplington-Parkersburg.
Coach's summary:
“We were extremely happy with jumping off to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. We were clicking on all cylinders, special teams, defense and offense. The key to it all was owning the LOS with our defensive and offensive line. Our special team coverage’s helped us gain great field position. It was a team effort and all of our players were able to get into the ball game. We needed to do a better job making stops on defense in the second half as well as moving the football on offense. There are always things to work on.”
Individual Performance(s) Comments from Coach Hadachek:
“It was exciting to see Troy Hanus lead us to a victory in his first Varsity start. John Boisen made a great transition to wide receiver and will continue to contribute. Dylan Stech was our leading tackler and we had six guys with four or more tackles, which shows team defense.”
Comment on Aplington Parkersburg from Coach Hadachek:
“ AP looks like an improved team in comparison to last year on film. There are back to vintage AP football on offense, controlling the LOS, grinding out the clock, and putting points on the board. On defense they are leading the league with creating turnovers. They are also solid on special teams. The Falcons are well coached and fundamentally sound. We need to have a great week of preparation in order to execute in all phases on Friday. We are fighting for position in the district standings.”
