Sports : Hogan on Fast Shafts Invitational Ballot again; voting ends Aug. 5

The first round of voting for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational has ended. Two drivers from each of the five regions for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified regions were voted onto the starting grid.

Eighteen more starters will be elected at large between Monday, Aug. 1 and Friday, Aug. 5 for the Xtreme Motor SPorts Modified race. Complet­ing the Friday, Sept. 9 All-Star field at Boone Speedway will be candidates with the high­est national point total and the most 40-point feature wins competing at the IMCA Speedway Mo­tors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Vinton racer Scott Hogan is among the North Central Region drivers on the ballot. Hogan's fans can vote for him HERE. Others who race regularly in Vinton are also included on this year's ballot.

Hogan has earned a spot in this All-Star race two times in his career, including his first time, in 2005.

"He led every lap of that race except the last lap," recalls Hogan's wife, Jolyne.

This year, the Hogans hope to make it Scott's third time for the All-Star race.

"But we need the votes," says Jolyne. Anyone can vote once per day through Friday. Voters must select nine drivers in each group for their vote to count, however.
