Sports : Horst, Smith lead VS cross country runners in first meet

The VS girls finished 8th at the Mount Vernon Cross Country meet on Tuesday.

Grace Horst and Cole Smith were the first V-S runners to finish in their meets as the VS Vikings and Vikettes competed in the first cross country meet of the season, at Mount Vernon.

Horst finished 7th in the girls race with a time of 21:19; Smith finished 24th among boys with a time of 18:07.

In team scoring, the Vikings were 5th and the Vikettes, 8th.
