More records fell Thursday night at the pool in a dominating senior-night win for the Stormin' Viking Swim team as the home team controlled the meet from the start. Motivated by a narrow early season short-handed loss to Williamsburg - the team came out fired up and lead from start to finish in a 73-29 win.

On the night the Stormin' Vikings won 10 of 11 events and finished first and second in the final 6 events of the evening. Event wins included all three relays, Aleric Weber in the 200 Free, Ian Allsup in the 60 and 100 Free, Broden Farrell in the 100 Fly, Wes Farrell in the 500 Free and 100 Back and Ian Vrba in the 100 Breast. The 60 Free swim from Ian Allsup broke the 36-year-old record for the team. The winning 160 Free Relay team of Allsup, James De Smet, Brayden Beck and Vrba also bettered their previous team record set just two nights earlier. On the night the team turned in another 26 best times.

There were several other milestone swims on the night as Hunter Kempton went under a minute in the 100 Free for the first time posting a 58.15. First-year swimmer Jacob Dreier swam his first-ever 500 Free in a respectable time of 7:45.77 to capture second place and score 3 team points. Broden Farrell won the 100 Fly in a career best 1:04.59 in his first time swimming the event this season. Juniors Wes Farrell and Aleric Weber went first and second in the 100 back with season best times with Farrell bettering the minute mark.

The Stormin Vikes look to finish the season strong as the team heads to Grinnell Tuesday for a double-dual with Grinnell and Centerville. On the 24th the team will be at Cedar Rapids Washington before heading to Conference on Jan 28th at Coe and Districts on Feb 4th at Dubuque. District will be very tough competition with Dubuque Senior and Hempstead, Cedar Falls, Iowa City West, Waterloo, Decorah and Clinton.
